1990 saw the Italian Prime Minister Giulio Andreotti admit top the senate that he knew of a secret NATO-run group of assassins and bombers which had been running for over 40 years. This was to become known as Operation Gladio. In the Middle East, first Iraq, then USA invaded Kuwait. The USSR was in political turmoil following the secession from the Warsaw Pact of the Soviet satellite nation states of Eastern Europe.

1990 saw the public admission by Italian Prime Minister Giulio Andreotti of Operation Gladio, a NATO-run group which had carried out murders and bombings in Italy, and had been in existence for over 40 years. The US invaded Kuwait, which had been occupied by the army of Saddam Hussein. A sexual blackmail operation, the Franklin child prostitution ring was exposed, but the assassination of Gary Caradori facilitated a cover-up operation which prevented wide exposure.

Gulf War

Nayirah al-Ṣabaḥ, whose 1990 testimony to a non-governmental Congressional Human Rights Caucus helped start the Gulf War. It was not perjury, since she had not sworn a legally binding oath to tell the truth.

Saddam Hussein fell for a simple trick by US President George H. W. Bush and made a fateful decision to invade Kuwait. After some fast war propaganda at home (most notably from Nurse Nayirah), 1990 saw a short war in which the US attacked and "liberated" Kuwait by expelling Saddam's forces.

Supranational deep state exposure

1990 saw the exposure of a continent wide deep state network which had been running for almost half a century, organising bombings, assassinations and other such methods of political subversion. The network had different names in different countries, but was first definitively exposed (though not wound up) in Italy, so the whole project came to be known as "Operation Gladio", which was the name of the Italian group.

The Franklin child prostitution ring was also exposed in 1990, but the assassination of Gary Caradori prevented more serious exposure.

After a swathe of false flag bombings in Italy in the 1980s, the veil of secrecy surrounding Operation Gladio was finally lifted when Italian Prime Minister Giulio Andreotti testified about it to the Italian Senate. This was centred on the P2 masonic lodge run by Licio Gelli.

In 1990, the Franklin child prostitution ring came to light. Nebraska State Senator Loran Schmit hired Gary Caradori as an independent researcher to investigate. He interviewed a number of victims and obtained such damning evidence that on 10 July 1990 he claimed to have the subjects of the investigation "by the short hairs." By the next morning, however, he was dead, after his small plane broke apart in flight. Two years later, the National Transportation Safety Board concluded that the wings of Caradori's plane snapped off due to stress.
