A third rail topic is one that is not to be touched. It is a subject, concept or interpretation of events signposted by The Powers That Be as being unsuitable for any kind of public or academic debate and where offenders are at risk of (usually unspecified) serious adverse consequences. Third rail topics are a key aspect of the commercially-controlled media's self-censorship.

Etymology

The phrase refers to the central rail used by some electric trains. While the outside rails are for carrying the train, the third rail carries the electric current, and so even touching it can deliver a fatal electric shock.

Wikipedia

On Wikipedia, the page about this includes topics that seemingly are controversial, but are still being talked about daily, such as race issues, or abortion, seemingly not talking about deep events and their background.

Censorship of topics

Certain conspiracies are allowed to be discussed whereas others are off limits.

Third rail topics are not forbidden opinions, such as dissent from the 9-11/Official narrative or any of its official opposition narratives, but entire topics which should never be discussed.

In 2020, treatment of Covid-19 emerged as a third rail. Knowledge about repurposed off patent drugs, such as hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin was suppressed and studies were manipulated to hide their efficacy and provide a pretext for their automatic censorship. The COVID lockdowns provided a new twist, by preventing people from meeting physically, they amplified the effectiveness of their censorship by big tech.

2016 Saumur Daesh Cell	In 2016 gardeners in Saumur, France found what appeared to be a Daesh cell, complete with recording equipment and props such as ISIS flags. Local police were told by the French Ministry of Defense that it was an exercise, although local police knew nothing of it.
9-11/Cover-up	A lot of resources have been devoted to containing the truth about the events of September 11th, 2001. However, while it has been more or less kept from television screens, awareness about 9-11 is growing worldwide.
9-11/E-4B	An E-4B was spotted over the White house and the Pentagon on 9/11. The official narrative for more than a decade was not to talk about it, although it was reported on CNN and video, photos and eye witnesses do exist. Later declassification did prove the basic fact that the plane was present.
9-11/George Washington Bridge plot	The FBI arrested at least one van of men (two or three) which was found to contain tons of explosives. This was announced on the day, two conflicting reports, but later retracted. No alternative explanation is known to have been given.
9-11/Insider Trading	A mound of evidence points to insider trading. However, the 9/11 Commission decided not to investigate the matter and the SEC destroyed important records.
9-11/Premature death	Many people have been killed in an effort to suppress the truth about 9/11. Where convenient, deaths have been made to look accidental or illness related. Sometimes people have been "suicided", making it hard to know exactly how many were murdered.
9-11/WTC6	A building in the World Trade Center which suffered at least one large explosion during September 11th. It housed the El Dorado Task force, which coordinated all major money laundering investigations in the U.S.
9-11/WTC7/Destruction/Foreknowledge	The first reference to a third tower collapsing is by Jane Standley of the BBC at around 10:45 a.m. Other references are later that afternoon.
Black site	Black sites are places where a black project or covert operation is executed, organized, or held. Locations can vary from an air force or other military base, plain library, a secret embassy wing to even a jet-plane itself. Some black sites do become known to the general public, although often as a modified limited hangout.

Corporate media/Mendacity	Corporate media has a long history of lying and misleading on matters of great importance to the deep state, such as causes of wars. In the 21st century, the public is becoming increasingly mistrustful of corporate media as the internet allows for easy research into and perfect recall of its track record.

SDS	Since the 1970s, formerly separate deep states have integrated and now routinely conspire to subvert governments and international organisations. The collective effort to cover-up 9/11 saw this emerging supergroup fuse into a single Supranational Deep State, one with direct control over governments, central banks and global trafficking of drugs, weapons, people etc. Its reliance on deception, however, continues to make its long term prospects far from certain.
