Institute for Strategic Dialogue
The Institute for Strategic Dialogue brings together a range of the elite policy planning activites of Lord Weidenfeld. All but one of its trustees (Helena Kennedy) have connections with the banking and finance sector including with hedge funds. The think tank has as it purpose to analyse and trial "innovative solutions to the rising tide of extremism, hate, populism and polarisation[1], which is defined broadly as all opinions that go against ruling class agendas, from opposition to COVID-policies[2] to "anti-climate efforts".[3]
The Institute, however, focuses much of its activities on the question of Islam and its role in Western societies and on defence and intelligence matters. The Institute provides the home for a number of Weidenfeld's other initiatives, such as the Club of Three.[4]

Funded by the German Federal Foreign Office, the ISD's Digital Policy Lab (DPL) is an networking hub of governments, corporations, foundations and interest groups "focused on charting the regulatory and policy path forward to prevent and counter disinformation, hate speech, extremism and terrorism online."[5]
As a hidden middleman for government activities, DPL works with a range of collaborators including the European Climate Foundation, Greenpeace UnEarthed and DeSmog, to developing "cutting-edge tools" tailored to audiences across the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, the UK and the United States. The purpose of these tools is to "combat malign influence campaigns, disinformation and broader anti-climate efforts, by giving the sector "in-depth and ongoing data from the digital space."[6]
The objective of this work is to:
- Build a system for data collection and analysis which can support key stakeholders in their advocacy, public education, policymaking and strategic communications around climate.[6]
- Provide live trend analysis on anti-climate narratives and influencer networks, particularly in the run-up to key events (e.g. COP26, national elections).[6]
- Develop and drive execution of strategies to expose, disrupt and mitigate coordinated influence campaigns around climate.[6]
