Henry R. Kravis is a multi-billionaire[1] American businessman and serial bilderberger. He is a co-founder of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co and the KKR Global Institute. Kravis was one of the key players in the leveraged buyout ("hostile takeover") of RJR Nabisco in late 1988 for $24.88 billion which was the largest corporate control transaction of its time.[2]
Kravis is a prominent Republican political donor and was a major contributor to the 1992 re-election campaign of George H. W. Bush, as well as the campaigns of George W. Bush and John McCain. He established the Republican Leadership Council with Lewis Eisenberg in 1997 [3]
While not a donor during the Trump campaign, Kravis donated $1 million to the presidential inauguration of Donald Trump in 2016. [4]
Background
Kravis' s father, Ray, made a fortune through his discovery in the 1920s of tax shelters in oil investments. Among those who entrusted him with their money was Bostonian Joseph P. Kennedy, who had surplus cash from his bootlegging during Prohibition. Prescott Bush, George HW Bush's father, and a partner in the Wall Street investment house Brown Brothers Harriman, was an other friend of Ray Kravis. When George graduated from Yale in 1948, his father prevailed upon Kravis to give George a job in Tulsa. At the last minute, the young Bush declined the offer, moving instead to Texas.[5]
KKR Global Institute
Kravis tapped retired General and ex-CIA Director David Petraeus to run the intelligence agency in December 2014. KGI was responsible for trafficking large quantities of weapons into the Syria conflict in order to arm Daesh/ISIS opposition to Bashar Al-Assad. [6]
KGI claims to be "an integral part of the KKR investment process" [7].
Bilderberg
Kravis and his wife Marie-Josée Kravis are both serial Bilderberg attenders.
