John Bolton is a neoconservative who has held various jobs in the US government, including US Permanent Representative to the United Nations.

Career

Bolton was US Ambassador to the UN. He has been assisted[citation needed] by fellow Cercle attendee, Laura Jordan Dietrich, who was the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs when Bolton as US Secretary of State.

National Security Advisor

On 22 March 2018, Donald Trump announced that John Bolton would be succeed H. R. McMaster as US National Security Advisor on 9 April 2018. Bolton tweeted his official statement on accepting @POTUS' request to become the next National Security Advisor.[1]

Awards

He won the Zionist Organization of America's 2006 Defender of Israel Award – given to him for the role he played in undermining the "Zionism is Racism" declaration at the United Nations Anti-Racism conference in Durban, South Africa.
