The 1980 Bilderberg Meeting was the 28th such meeting and had 113 participants from 18 European countries, the United States, Canada and "various international organizations".[1] It was held at the Parkhotel Quellenhof, Bad Aachen, Federal Republic of Germany.
Contents
Agenda
The 1980 Bilderberg Conference Report has been leaked and is now online. The topic on the agenda was America and Europe: Past, Present and Future, broken down into three aspects:[1]
1. Political Aspect
There were two working papers. The first working paper, from France, was entitled Europe And The United States - Yesterday And Tomorrow. The second working paper, from the US, was entitled The Americans And The Alliance in 1980.
2. Security Aspect
There were three working papers. The first, an international paper, was entitled New Threats And old Allies: Prospects For The Security Of Europe And America. The second working paper, by a German, was entitled Energy Policy, Monetary Policy, Foreign trade And Payments: Relations Between Europe And The U.S.. The third, by a Canadian, was entitled Economic Relations Between North America And Europe.
3. Economic Aspect
This was a half day discussion, with no working papers prepared.
