Career
He was, amongst many other things, Chairman of Chase Manhattan Bank.
Deep Politics
David Rockefeller founded the Trilateral Commission. In his autobiography, Rockefeller states that he first learned of Le Cercle in October 1967 when he was invited to join by Carlo Pesenti. He hosted the first Cercle meeting in the US, in 1968, and was a member for many years. However, he writes, "my Chase associates, who feared my membership could be construed as “consorting with reactionaries,” eventually prevailed upon me to withdraw."[1] A short time after a 1997 meeting of Le Cercle he left the group, annoyed as he put it in his autobiography by the "ultra-conservative politics of some of the participants".[2]
Bilderberg
David Rockefeller was invited to the first Bilderberg conference in 1954, and was sometimes referred to as a "life member". He was a longtime steering committee member, in 2001 was chairman of the Bilderberg Advisory Committee and attended almost all conferences up to 2011.
