As is suspected for all subsequent Secretaries General of NATO, Luns attended Bilderberg meetings before being appointed to lead NATO. Sources indicated he attended, at least, in 1964, 1970-1984.[1][2][3][4][5][6]
Sadomasochism
According to a BVD surveillance dossier, in the early 1970s Luns frequented a massage parlour in the Hague. The information came from, Rien Werner, a pimp found "politically reliable" enough to provide the spooks with information. He does this together with his bisexual friend Pieter Wielemaker. According to Werner, Wielemaker is married "pro forma" to a "lady of light morals" who runs a massage parlor on the first floor. Among her clients would be "Mr. Luns", who would engage in "sadomasochistic" practices. according to the BVD rapporteur: "Wielemaker finds it unpleasant in a sense that someone like the Minister of Foreign Affairs feels the need for this, but on the other hand it is a good customer." The rapporteur considers "this type of story is not a stimulating literature". Nevertheless, he considers himself obliged to "report the matter unabridged".
