Castries is an extremely well connected French Businessman who got his start in politics as a member of the French Treasury in 1984. He is the Vice-Chairman of Nestle, the world's largest food company as well as a director at HSBC, the largest bank in Europe. He was the CEO of AXA from 2000 until 2016.
Deep Political connections
He was selected Young leader several times by the French-American Foundation, in 1994, 1995, 1998 (1996 and 1997 unknown), meaning that he had closer ties to the foundation than most other Young Leaders.
