The 1979 Bilderberg Meeting was the 27th such meeting and had participants from 16 European countries, the United States, Canada and "various international organizations".[1] It was held at the Clubhotel Schloss Weikersdorf, Baden, Austria. The 95 guests included 18 business executives, 34 politicians, 4 financiers, 9 editors/journalists and 7 academics. The next meeting was the 1980 Bilderberg.
Agenda
The 1979 Bilderberg Conference Report has been leaked and is now online. There were 3 topics on the agenda.[1]
1. The Present International Monetary Situation And Its Consequences For World Cooperation
There were two working papers. The first working paper, from the UK, was entitled A View From London. The second working paper, from the US, was entitled The International Monetary System: Implications For Economic Cooperation.
2. The Implications Of Instability In The Middle East And Africa For The Western World
There were three working papers. The first was a French paper on Instability in the Middle East and Africa, The consequences of the Iranian crisis and The African quagmire. The second working paper, by an American, was entitled Implications For the West Of Instability In The Middle East. The third, also by an American, was entitled United States Policy Perspectives On Africa And The Southern Africa Conflicts.
3. Other Current Issues Bearing On European-American relations
This was a half day discussion, with no working papers prepared.
