Richard Gage, founder of AE911 Truth, who was influenced by an interview on Guns and Butter
A 9-11 dissident is someone who publicly calls into question the US Deep state's official narratives surrounding the 9/11 event. The label is not for minor disagreements but for those with a more serious objection to the story as told by commercially-controlled media}.

A 9-11 dissident (or 9-11 sceptic) is someone who has publicly challenged the official narrative concerning the events of 11th September 2001. This does not include those who promote the 9-11/Official opposition narrative — also promulgated by the US Deep state — that "mistakes were made" and that a few officials lied to cover up isolated wrongdoing.

A high profile 9-11 dissident would be Richard Gage, who founded AE911 Truth. Another example would be Richard Falk, the UN Special Rapporteur on the Situation of Human Rights in the Palestinian Territories Occupied since 1967, who wrote in 2011 that "what seems most disturbing about the 9/11 controversy is the widespread aversion by government and media to the evidence that suggests, at the very least, the need for an independent investigation that proceeds with no holds barred."[1]

9-11 Official Narrative

Full article: 9-11/Official narrative

The US government was quick to announce, and the controlled corporate media quick to reiterate that the events of September 11th were a complete surprise, but could immediately be seen to carry "all the hallmarks" of Al-Qaeda. The attacks were carried out by 19 Muslim hijackers, under the direction of "the world's most wanted terrorist" Ossama Bin Laden, without the knowing collaboration of anyone within the US government.

Media Reporting

Full article: 9-11/Media reporting

Reporting on the morning of 9-11 did feature considerable eyewitness testimony of events which contradicted the official narrative (such as bombs going of in the World Trade Center); the destruction of WTC7 was shown on live television, albeit presaged by (architecturally highly implausible) suggestions that it was expected to do so (and in several cases by the even more implausible claim that it had already done so). The reporting of real events and eyewitneeses were intermixed with a range of deep state functionaries whose well rehearsed performances were designed to bolster the official story while undercutting any criticism of it.

In the days and weeks after 9-11, the US Deep state, aided by its allies in the emerging supranational deep state, exercised adept control over the US corporate media, resulting in what has been termed a "patriotism police".[2] Anyone who publicly questioned the "19 hijackers" story was savagely criticised. When facts emerged which presented serious problems to the story, they were not followed up on. After publicly announcing that some of the 19 hijackers were still alive, the BBC never issued a retraction, but neither did it investigate further. Three of the attackers' passports were found, but the planes black boxes were supposedly never found.[3] Everyone in corporate media quickly got the message that no questioning of the pronouncements of US government officials would be tolerated, even when they reversed their positions or contradicted one another.

Emotional trauma

People worldwide uncritically absorbed media coverage of that day, letting newsanchors (who themselves were also in a state of shock) read off The Deep State's script of who did what and why. Normally mature, reflective adults looked uncritically to national governments for protection from this unprecedented horror, as a child looks grips their parents' hand in fright. One tangible measure of the net emotional effect that the attacks had on the US populace is provided by the popularity rating of George W. Bush. Despite an underwhelming performance by the US President, it leapt from 51% to 91%.[4]

Censorship of dissent

Full article: 9-11/Censorship

Once an official narrative had been announced, almost no challenges to it were tolerated. An army of "terror experts" were presented who almost to a man[5] (and like deep politicians, they do tent to be almost all men) accepted it unquestioningly. Anyone who failed to immediately get behind the official story was immediately marginalised.

"Conspiracy theorists"

In spite of the corporate media blackout, the 9-11 Truth movement grew and organised using the internet, which inspired The Deep State to take a different approach. Corporate media chose a few people who challenged the official story and publicly disparaged them, labelling their ideas "conspiracy theory" and tainting them by juxtaposition with ideas such as alien abduction. Various "investigatory" hit pieces were produced, including the BBC "conspiracy files".

Early dissidents

Back in 2001, awareness of false flag attacks was very rarified, and the public at large had almost no awareness even of the US/Deep state, never mind the fact that it was centered on the Bush family. Although the clues were there, only a few people were both intellectually sharp enough and emotionally ready to put two and two together and see that the US government's official narrative was a big lie.[6]

Character

As of 2018, the evidential grounds for the questioning of 9-11 are compelling and more and more people understand this. However, few public figures have chosen to publicly go on the record with doubts of the official narrative, possibly because they feel that to do so entails some degree of risk. Public 9-11 scepticism therefore remains a good indicator of:-

  1. Critical attitude to the US Deep state and its corporate media
  2. Courage to speak out

Public questioning of 9/11 is a single, simple, indication that someone is not loyal to The Deep State, and while not infallible, is more to be trusted than promises of "hope and change" or "draining the swamp". The more vocally and intelligently someone has attempted to uncover the truth of 9-11, the stronger the indication they is not a puppet of the supranational deep state.

Examples of Non-dissidents

As of 2018, it is a rare public figure of senior politician who is will to declare that they disbelieve the 9-11 official narrative, although that tendency is increasing as public awareness is growing. Below are some individuals whom one might suspect of been 9-11 dissidents but who have publicly declared support for the official story.

Julian Assange

Full article: Julian Assange
Julian Assange.jpg

The most notable among supporters of the 9-11 official narrative is Julian Assange, founder of Wikileaks, who apart from considerable information gathering skills has supposedly also seen a lot of leaked information. A 2010 cites Assange as stating that "I'm constantly annoyed that people are distracted by false conspiracies such as 9/11, when all around we provide evidence of real conspiracies, for war or mass financial fraud".[7] As of 2019, the text of that quote required a login, although the full text was still was available from the internet archive.[8]

Edward Snowden

Edward Snowden, like Julian Assange, reportedly has access to a huge amount of secret information. In May 2014, notwithstanding his supposedly adversarial relationship with the US Deep state, he supported their official opposition narrative that “we had all of the information we needed as an intelligence community, as a classified sector, as the national defense of the United States to detect this plot.” [citation needed].

Ban Ki-moon

Full article: Ban Ki-moon
Ban Ki-moon.jpg

On 24 January 2011, Ban Ki-moon reportedly stated about Richard Falk's call 13 days earlier for a no-holds barred investigation into 9/11: "The Secretary-General condemns these remarks. He has repeatedly stated his view that any such suggestion is preposterous — and an affront to the memory of the more than 3,000 people who died in the attack."[9]That the UN Secretary-General refuses to admit that 9-11 needs looking at is less surprising than Assange or Snowden's refusal to go there, but notable for anyone hoping that the UN might prove a suitable organisation to support an international investigation.

Ex-dissidents

Very few people, having publicly declared disbelief of the US government's official narrative of 9-11 have then reversed their position. However, one British activist named Charlie Veitch of the Love Police was a prominent 9/11 dissident but according to a post on his website, he publicly reversed his position following a trip to the USA, a decision reported on by The Telegraph.
