Official narrative
One biographer referred to the Bushes as "the most successful political dynasty in American history".[1]
Alternative opinions
Researcher Mark Gorton suggests that crime is the Bush family business, and that George H. W. Bush set up a huge criminal network which, borrowing a phrase from Oliver North, he referred to as "the enterprise". A section of one of Gorton's essays is entitled The Bush Family's Criminal Rampage Through History, beginning with Prescott Bush's financial alliance with German industrialist Fritz Thyssen.[2]
