Matthias Naß (Matthias Nass)is a German journalist and member of the Bilderberg steering committee. Since 2011, he has been international correspondent for the weekly newspaper Zeit.

Career

From 1978 to 1982, Naß was managing director of the German Society for Asian Studies and editor of a magazine about Asian affairs. He is Vice President of the German-Japanese Center in Berlin.

After finishing the Henry Nannen School of Journalism in 1983, he started working in die Zeit in 1984. Nass began his career as an editor in the politics section. In 1990 he became deputy head of the political section, from 1994 to 1997 he was editorial director and from 1998 to 2010 deputy editor-in-chief. Since 2011, he has been Chief International Correspondent.

Connections

Nass is a member of the Transatlantic Academy, a program run by the CIA-front organization The German Marshall Fund of the United States. He gives lectures at the Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen (Institute for International Relations). He has been a guest at Körber Foundation events since 2011. He is member of the influential Atlantik-Brücke.

Bilderberg

From 1997 to 2012, he participated in every Bilderberg Conference, and was part the Bilderberg steering committee. In 2012, he ended his participation.
