Castries is an extremely well connected French Businessman who got his start in politics as a member of the French Treasury in 1984. He is the Vice-Chairman of Nestle, the world's largest food company as well as a director at HSBC, the largest bank in Europe. He was the CEO of AXA from 2000 until 2016.
In September 2019, he became Chairman of European operations for the US venture capital firm General Atlantic.[2]
