Dr Constanze Stelzenmüller is a German editor with multiple deep state connections. She has worked as a newspaper editor, leader of the Berlin office of the German Marshall Fund of the United States. From 2014, she works for the US Brookings Institution.
Education
From 1979 to 1985, Stelzenmüller studied law at the University of Bonn and University of Geneva. As a McCloy scholarship holder, she received a Masters in Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University (1988); subsequently she did research as a visiting scientist at Harvard Law School (1988–89). With a thesis on direct democracy in the US, she got a doctorate at the University of Bonn in 1992.
Career
After a short internship (1992–93) at the newspaper Tagesspiegel, Stelzenmüller moved straight to defense and international security editor at the influential mainstream weekly Die Zeit 1994, where she focused on human rights, refugee dramas and the UN, as well as African conflicts such as Rwanda, Congo and Eritrea/Ethiopia. From 1998 from 1998 onward, she covered a broad spectrum of issues, including NATO, European defense and security policy, military intervention in Kosovo and Afghanistan, the war on terror, Iraq, international war crimes tribunals, German foreign policy, and US-German relations.
To what extent she as editor planted stories from intelligence services and maintained the wanted narrative as a gatekeeper, can only be conjectured.
From April to June 2004, Stelzenmüller was a Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson International Center in Washington, DC. In July 2005, she took over the management of the Berlin office of the foundation German Marshall Fund of the United States, which traditionally has very close ties to the CIA (according to Udo Ulfkotte a direct CIA-front). From 2009 to 2014 she was a senior transatlantic fellow at the foundation.
From 2014 onwards, she works for the Brookings Institute. [1]
She is governor of the Ditchley Foundation, a Bilderberg-like group of US and British power brokers.
In 2017, she testified before the US Congress on "Russian interference" in Europe. (headlines like: "The toolbox of head-hacking"..."useful idiots“..."Attribution is elusive: No smoking gun")[2]
Stelzenmüller’s essays and articles, in both German and English, have appeared in a wide range of publications, including Foreign Affairs, Internationale Politik, the Financial Times, the international edition of New York Times and Süddeutsche Zeitung.[3]
