The 1971 Bilderberg Meeting was the 21st such meeting and had 92 participants from 12 Western European countries, the United States, Canada and "various international organizations".[1] It was held at the Woodstock Inn, Woodstock, Vermont, United States.

Agenda

The 1971 Bilderberg Conference Report has been leaked and is now online. There were two topics on the agenda.[1]

1. The Contribution of Business in Dealing with Current Problems of Social Instability

This topic had working papers from US and Italy.

2. The Possibility of a Change of the American Role in the World, and its Consequences

Exceptionally, this topic had three working papers from a single Bilderberg Steering Committee member, Dennis Healey. He spelled out the "Nixon Doctrine" a paper on Deluded Strategies in the Twilight of the Cold War (originally published in The Times), The Nixon Doctrine and the Future of Europe and Possibility of a Change in the U.S. Role in the World, and Its Consequences.[2]

Absence

The meeting was opened by The Prince of the Netherlands who read a letter from Professor John Pesmazoglou, who had been invited but was not given a passport by the Greek government, so did not attend.
