Career

From 1949 to 1952, André Aumonier was head of the commercial secretariat of the Brasseries de la Meuse. In 1952, he was appointed secretary general of the Centre Français du Patronat Chrétien (CPPC), renamed in 1957 the Centre chrétien des patrons et dirigeants d'entreprise. He was then general delegate from 1956 to 1965, then president from 1975 to 1981 and finally honorary president.

In 1975, he was President of the European University of Business and Deputy Vice-President of the European Foundation for economic affairs.

In 1976, with Jacques Tessier, president of the French Confederation of Christian Workers (CFTC), he founded the Association Évangile et Société, which looked at the problems of society in the light of the Gospel. He was its president from 1993 to 1998.
