Lobster Magazine's initial focus was on deep politics - roughly, the impact of the intelligence and security services on history and politics - but has since widened out to include contemporary history, politics and economics and associated subculture. In 1977 Robin Ramsay started State Research Bulletin with Stephen Dorril. In 1983 the pair[citation needed] started The Lobster.
Format
The first nine issues were A5, then it was increased to A4.
Penetration by MI5
Ramsay relates how in 1987, he attracted the attentions of an MI5 agent very interested in the Lobster Magazine.[1]
