The 1985 Bilderberg Meeting was the 33rd such meeting and had participants from 19 European countries, the United States, Canada and "various intergovernmental organizations".[1] It was held at Arrowwood of Westchester, Rye Brook, New York, USA. The 110 guests included 27 business executives, 31 politicians, 8 financiers, 6 editors/journalists and 9 academics. The next meeting was the 1986 Bilderberg.

Agenda
The 1985 Bilderberg Conference Report has been leaked and is now online. There were five topics on the agenda.[1]
1. Divergent Social And Economic Trends In The Atlantic World
There were three working papers. The first working paper, by Ralf Dahrendorf, was entitled Social, Economic and Political Developments in Europe and America. The second working paper, by Richard Scammon, was entitled Some Aspects of the American Political System. The third, by Herbert Stein was entitled The American Economic 'Miracle'. The discussion was chaired by David Rockefeller.
2. How Should The West Deal With The Soviet Bloc?
Papers were prepared by panelists Zbigniew Brzezinski, Helene Carrere d'Encausse, Karl Kaiser. Manfred Wörner was an additional panelist. The discussion was chaired by Andrew Knight.
3. The Strategic Defense Initiative
The topic was introduced by Richard Perle.
4. How Should The West Deal With Developing Countries?
There were two working papers. The first, by Lord Lever of Manchester, was entitled The United States and Europe: Coping with Change. The second, by Edwin H. Yeo III, was entitled U.S. Economic Performance and Prospects. The discussion was chaired by Daniel Janssen.
5. Current Events: The U.S. Budget And The European Perspective
The panelists were James R. Jones, Charles McC. Mathias Jr. and H. Onno Ruding. The discussion was chaired by Theo Sommer.
6. Operating The Alliance
The panelists were Etienne Davignon and Brent Scowcroft, who prepared working papers and Jean François-Poncet. The discussion was chaired by Giovanni Agnelli.
