Arthur Docters van Leeuwen was a Dutch spook and politician. a former director of the spook agency AIVD, he became Chairman of the Board of Procurators General, supervising all public prosecutors, a position he quit after Winnie Sorgdrager wanted to prosecute one of the attorneys, his friend, for pedo-activities [Citation Needed]. He then became Chairman of the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets and inspector for government finances at Ministry of Finance. He was a big investor in seized Libyan Oil companies after the 2011 Attacks on Libya. He attended the 2005 Bilderberg meeting.
Education
Docters Van Leeuwen was born in The Hague in 1946. He studied law in Utrecht where he became a member of the student fraternity Unitas, graduating in 1969 in state and administrative law.[1]
In the sixties he published under the pseudonym Hein Wybrand a number of erotic stories that were published in 1971 by publisher Bert Bakker under the title Het reservaat.
Career
Docters van Leeuwen started his career in 1969 as a civil servant in the Ministry of the Interior. He then became Inspector of state finances at the Ministry of Finance from 1970 to 1980.
In 1980 he returned to the Ministry of the Interior as deputy director of police at the Directorate General of Public Order and Security. In 1981, he became Deputy Director-General for Public Order and Security.
At the beginning of 1989, Docters van Leeuwen was appointed head of the Internal Security Service (Bvd), today's AIVD. He was succeeded by Vice Admiral Nico Buis in 1995.
On 1 January 1995 he became attorney general at the Court of Appeal of The Hague and president of the Board of Procurators General, supervising all public prosecutors. In 1998, he ran afoul of then-Justice Minister Winnie Sorgdrager.
From September 1999 to June 1, 2007, he was chairman of the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM). After his retirement, Docters Van Leeuwen was chairman of Holland Financial Centre, research fellow at the Dutch School of Public Administration and chairman of the advisory board at IRS, a company that focuses on "integrity and security issues".
He was filmed going into the retirement reception of Joris Demmink in 2012.[2]
Looted oil
In July 2011, he became one of three Dutch directors at Oilinvest, a Libyan state company that severed ties with the state during the 2011 NATO attack on Libya, and control was transferred to a foundation. Oilinvest is one of the largest Libyan companies in Europe, operating more than 3,000 [Tamoil] petrol stations and a number of refineries through subsidiaries in various European countries.
