Career

As Prime Minister, he refused to put his country into COVID-19/Lockdown.

Due to the 2021 Swedish government crisis, he announced his resignation on 28 June 2021, which meant talks would take place between the different political parties to find a new government, avoiding a snap election.[1]

He managed to hang on to power and formed a new government on 9 July.

He announced his resignation in November 2021[2], a unusual move, since it was year before the end of his term and he simply could have announced not to run for re-election. The new PM, Magdalena Andersson, promptly fell into Covid lockstep, introducing a vaccine passport system and other restrictions.[3]
