Naomi Klein is a Canadian author, social activist, and filmmaker known for her political analyses and criticism of corporate globalisation and capitalism. She became known internationally for her alter-globalisation book "No Logo" (1999) and "The Take" (2004), a documentary about Argentina's occupied factories (written by her and directed by her husband Avi Lewis) and especially "The Shock Doctrine"" (2007), a widely acclaimed analysis of the history of neoliberal economics. Her analyses concentrated on what was above the waterline, and never addressed deep political matters. In the 2020s she was vociferously challenging those who were questioning the ever shifting official narratives about COVID-19.

Great Reset

Naomi Klein has never had much to say about false flag attacks such as 9-11. In December 2020 she explained the Great Reset as follows:

“In short, the Great Reset encompasses some good stuff that won’t happen and some bad stuff that certainly will and, frankly, nothing out of the ordinary in our era of “green” billionaires readying rockets for Mars. [...] And yet search for the term “global reset” and you will be bombarded with breathless “exposés” of a secret globalist cabal, headed by Schwab and Bill Gates, that is using the state of shock created by the coronavirus (which is probably itself a “hoax”) to turn the world into a high-tech dictatorship that will take away your freedom forever: a green/socialist/Venezuela/Soros/forced vaccine dictatorship if the Reset exposé is coming from the far right, and a Big Pharma/GMO/biometric implants/5G/robot dog/forced vaccine dictatorship if the exposé hails from the far left.”

2023-2024 Israel-Hamas War

Annihilation of Gaza

On 15 March 2024, foreign policy analyst Rula Jebreal posted on X:

"Israel’s annihilation of #Gaza is erasing International norms, and killing democracy and human rights globally.
"Rogue states are exploiting western complicity with Israel as both a licence and as inspiration to further their fascism."
Kudos to @NaomiAKlein[2]

SaveGazanLives commented:

"You should feel ashamed, @NaomiAKlein.
"We haven't forgotten what you wrote right after #GazaGenocide started. Refaat Alareer himself called you out. He hated your guts for it, Naomi Klein.
"You are a shameless writer who profits by exploiting oppressed people one minute and throwing them under the bus another."[3]

Naomi Klein responded:

"Absolutely sickened by this loss. I was just now on his site reading his beautiful poetry. I feel such shame."[4]

Boycotting PEN America

In March 2024, Naomi Klein joined a dozen prominent authors and literary figures in boycotting PEN America's World Voices Festival,[5] scheduled to take place in New York from 8-11 May 2024, in protest of what they see as an inadequate response by the organisation to the genocide being committed against Palestinians by Israel in Gaza.[6] The writers addressed an open letter dated 13 March 2024 to PEN America, saying:

“In the context of Israel’s ongoing war on Gaza, we believe that PEN America has betrayed the organisation’s professed commitment to peace and equality for all, and to freedom and security for writers everywhere.
“Palestine’s poets, scholars, novelists and journalists and essayists have risked everything, including their lives and the lives of their families, to share their words with the world.
“Yet PEN America appears unwilling to stand with them firmly against the powers that have oppressed and dispossessed them for the last 75 years. An unrelenting genocidal campaign is currently being waged against Palestinians in Gaza, a horror that has been filmed daily and streamed live around the world.
“We hope that our decision not to participate will add to existing efforts to yield concrete and lasting change at a time that calls for moral courage from us all.”[7]

Naomi Klein posted on X:

“5 months ago, PEN America asked me to be an honorary co-chair of this year’s World Voices Festival. I was honoured. Then I watched what PEN did – and failed to do – about Gaza.”[8]

Still We Rise festival

Naomi Klein gave the closing speech at the Still We Rise festival on 24 February 2024. She concluded:

"They understand that Israel’s unending campaign is also a form of mass communication – that it is a message. And the message is being sent not only by Israel’s government but by every government that has blessed this onslaught – with words, with votes and vetoes at the United Nations, with photo ops, with weapons, with money, and with domestic attacks on Palestine solidarity. The message being broadcast is a simple one: that the gilded bubbles of relative safety and luxury that are dotted across our cruelly divided and fast-warming world will be protected at all costs. Up to and including with genocidal violence.[9]

Publications

  • 2022 - Doppelgänger: A Trip Into the Mirror World, an extended hit piece on Naomi Wolf in which, writes Christian Parenti, "Wolf becomes a stand-in for all deviations from the party line on Covid. Hence, Wolf serves as a strawman, allowing Klein to dismiss more reasonable criticisms by association."[10] Geoff Olson opines that it is not "an absolutely terrible book – just one that’s deeply wrong in key areas... In the hundreds of notes at the end of the book, there are CDC and WHO releases and a smattering of citations to refereed scientific journals. The vast bulk of the references are to mainstream media ‘fact-checked’ sources, in a Möbius strip of manufactured consent.".[11]

At the time, Naomi Klein's husband, Avi Lewis was a spokesperson for a multibillion dollar Canadian Pharmaceuticals policy. Lewis was booked by "PharmaCare" to host pro-Pharma 'round tables' and 'town halls', even while his wife was publishing against Naomi Wolf. The Council of Canadians appears to have tasked or employed Lewis to front for events to support a "PharmaCare NOW!" campaign. PharmaCare is a Health Canada policy that would use Canadian government money to underwrite the $42 billion of pharmaceuticals that Canadians use a year, a sum that has doubled to 41 billion since 2005.[12][13] In a rebuttal, Wolf pointed out that "It was undisclosed whether this series of events as in any way funded by Pharma interests, or if Avi Lewis contributed his time, name and reputation to travel from city to city across Canada purely as a volunteer."[14]

Mind control“When torture is covertly practiced but officially and legally repudiated, there is still hope that if atrocities are exposed, justice could prevail. When torture is pseudo-legal and those responsible deny that it is torture, what dies is what Hannah Arendt called "the juridical person in man".”2005The Guardian, The US has used torture for decades. All that's new is the openness about it
