Alexander De Croo is a Belgian politician. A member of the Open Flemish Liberals and Democrats (OVLD), he has been Prime Minister since October 1, 2020, where he directed some of the hardest lockdowns in Europe with some of the highest death numbers (possibly due to intentionally increasing the numbers with a triage policy)[citation needed]
He was selected a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2015. In 2022, during the European energy crisis after shutting off Russian gas supplies, he promised "the next 5 to 10 winters will be difficult....The development of the situation is very difficult throughout Europe".[1] The crisis he intentionally created fits in with the planned demolition of European economies as part of the WEF's Great Reset.[2]
Career
A former employee of Boston Consulting Group, he began his political life in June 2009 with an unsuccessful candidacy for the European elections. Six months later, he was elected president of the OVLD, replacing Guy Verhofstadt. He distinguished himself in April 2010 by causing the fall of the federal government of Yves Leterme, opening the longest political crisis in Belgian history.
He was elected in October 2012 mayor of Brakel then became just after that Deputy Prime Minister and Federal Minister of Pensions in the Di Rupo government. Under the mandates of Charles Michel then Sophie Wilmès, he continued as Deputy Prime Minister, as well as Minister of Development Cooperation. In 2018, he abandoned the Digital Agenda portfolio, which he had held since 2014, in favor of that of Finance.
Following the legislative elections of May 2019 and a long political crisis, he formed a government with Paul Magnette (PS), and he became Prime Minister of a coalition of seven parties, succeeding Sophie Wilmès.
Chatting up pornstar
In July 2021 Newsweek journalist Wouter Verschelden, published a book which recounts two years of political crisis in the country that led to the government chaired by Alexander De Croo. The book tells how Prime Minister De Croo, married with 2 children, in 2020 tried via WhatsApp to meet up with the Italian-Czech pornstar Eveline Dellai, who often stars with her her twin sister.[3][4][5] In an interview, she recounts: "So, this guy contacted me a long time ago. I don't know how he got my personal number, but from that number he contacted me in 2020. And he didn't just text me once, I remember he tried. ... a lot of times."
De Croo messaged: "Hey honey. I know you're in Belgium on November 24th ... Great! Do you think we could arrange a meeting the day after Monday 25th?"[6]. The star insisted that they never had a chance to meet: "the truth is that I am a little sad that the premier and I were unable to see each other in person. We couldn’t find the right day… a shame. I like all men with charisma. Indeed, men of power in particular"[7]
The messages go back to the period in which De Croo was minister of telecommunications: “De Croo had written to me on the occasion of one of my shows in Belgium asking me to see each other ”,...“I didn’t know who he was and how he got my private number”. Then the girl inquired, discovering the identity of the mysterious admirer: “They told me he was an important politician. He was a fan of mine, he wanted to see me. So we chatted“. [7]
