Fraud

On 15 December 2011, a Paris court declared him guilty of diverting public funds and abusing public confidence, and gave Chirac a two-year suspended prison sentence.[1]

Deep politics

His mayoral security assistant, Monique Garnier-Lançon, convened the French meetings of Le Cercle. The deputy mayor and chief financial officer of Paris, Alain Juppe under Chirac 1983-1995 was a Cercle attendee, as was another close adviser Paul Violet.
