Michel Miguel Elias Temer Lulia is a Brazilian politician, lawyer who unelected became president of Brazil from 31 August 2016 to 31 December 2018. He took office after the 2016 regime change against his predecessor Dilma Rousseff, who was unseated in a CIA-sponsored lawfare campaign.[1]
He did not stand for president in the 2018 Brazilian general election and was succeeded by Jair Bolsonaro.
US embassy informant
In May 2016 Wikileaks published a diplomatic cable showing that Temer provided intelligence on the political situation in Brazil to the US embassy in 2006. During the visit, Temer told the Americans that his political party, the Brazilian Democratic Movement Party (PMDB) did not have a real national vision but was just an "umbrella organization" for local political bosses, and informed his interlocutors that he stood behind the US-promoted Free Trade Area of the Americas.[2]
