Education
He graduated from Galatasaray High School and Istanbul University Faculty of Law.
Career
After working as an officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at various posts at the Embassies in Madrid, Amman, Bonn and Paris and at the Permanent Missions of the OECD and UNESCO, he worked as a foreign policy adviser to the then Prime Minister Turgut Özal from December 1985 until 1987.
Between 1987 and 1991, he was Ambassador to the European Community, then Undersecretary of State between 1991 and 1995. He was Ambassador to London between 1995 and 2000.
Sanberk retired in 2000 and worked as the Director of the Economic Social Studies Foundation of Turkey (TESEV) until September 2003. In 2011, he was a representative of Turkey in the investigation commission of the Israeli attack on the Gaza flotilla, conducted by the United Nations.[1]
He was President of the think tank International Strategic Research Organization.Between 2010 and 2014 he was member of the Board of Trustees of Kadir Has University.
He is married to Tern Sanberk and has one child.
