Description | US initiative enacted in 1948 to provide foreign aid to post-war Western Europe that has reached mythological status in transatlantic circles. If one looks at the details, it becomes far less impressive in achieving its stated objectives. |
The Marshall Plan was US initiative enacted in 1948 to provide foreign aid to post-war Western Europe that has reached mythological status in transatlantic circles. If one looks at the details, it becomes far less impressive in achieving its stated objectives, but succeeded in tying the area to the United States.
The United States transferred $13.3 billion (equivalent to $173.8 billion in 2024) to Western European economies after the end of World War II.
CIA black fund
At least 5 percent of the Marshall Plan was earmarked for CIA activities.[1] (So $655 million or $7.8 Billion in 2024) This was particularly from the European repayments of loans, which were put in European bank accounts, and were used for the financing of fronts, propaganda, and select people and parties.
