Kristian Jensen is a Danish politician. He was selected for the Marshall Memorial Fellowship in 1999.[1]. In 2003 Jensen published The Book Hurrah for Globalisation, in which he advocated globalisation and free trade.[2] He attended the 2023 Bilderberg meeting when leader of Green Power Denmark working for accelerated "renewable energy". One of the topics was Energy Transition.[3]

Career

Kristian Jensen completed an apprenticeship as a bank employee at Unibank from 1991 to 1993 and worked there until 1998. In 1993 he became a member of the National Committee of Young Liberals, the youth organization of the party Venstre, led the organization from 1995 to 1997 and was a member of the party executive committee from 1995 to 1998 and since 2004.[4]

Jensen was a member of Ringkøbing Municipal Council from 11 March 1998 to 13 November 2007, and has been a member of the Folketing as a West Jutland MP since 13 November 2007. As soon as from August 2004 to February 2010 he was selected to become Minister of Taxation, and from June 2015 to November 2016, Minister of Foreign Affairs as well as deputy prime minister. He was selected Minister of Finance from 28 November 2016 to 27 June 2019.

In 2022, Jensen was hired to lead the newly merged organization Green Power Denmark, which is created by the merger of Dansk Energi, Wind Denmark and Dansk Solkraft. Green Power Denmark is Denmark's "green business" organization and works for an accelerated electrification of Denmark with "renewable energy" such as solar panels and windmills.[5]
