Silvio Berlusconi was an Italian media magnate and three time Prime Minister of Italy. An Italian media tycoon, he was a member of the Italin Chamber of Deputies from 1994 to 2013; a member of the Senate of the Republic from 2022 until his death in 2023, and previously from March to November 2013; and a member of the European Parliament (MEP) from 2019 to 2022, and previously from 1999 to 2001. With a net worth of US$6.8 billion as of June 2023, Berlusconi was the third-wealthiest person in Italy at the time of his death.

The Bunga bunga parties Silvio Berlusconi had in the 2000s (and possibly earlier) were private parties organized on his properties where young women were paid for sex, or could get a position in one of his TV channels in return - according to Imane Fadil; she also reported one instance in which children were present at these parties. In March 2019, Iman Fadil was poisoned before she could testify at the trial of Silvio Berlusconi for bribery.

Israel

Under Berlusconi, Italy was an ally of Israel. Berlusconi was noted for his close and friendly relationship with Israeli prime minister Netanyahu. Netanyahu described Berlusconi as "one of the greatest friends". Berlusconi believed that Israel should be made an EU member. Berlusconi strongly defended Israel in the Israeli–Palestinian conflict, continuing his support for Israel after leaving office. He defended Israel's actions during the Gaza–Israel conflict and called for "effective" sanctions against Iran. However, he said that the construction of Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank was a "mistake" and "could be an obstacle to peace".

Russia

Berlusconi condemned the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, saying he was disappointed in Russian president Putin. On the eve of the 2022 Italian general election, he said that "the troops were supposed to enter, reach Kyiv in a week, replace the Zelensky government with decent people and a week later come back".
