Career
He has been an official in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs 1994-98, where he also was Denmark's representative in negotiations at working group level in the EU and WTO.
He worked as embassy secretary at the Danish Embassy in Moscow 1997, then became external lecturer at the University of Copenhagen 1997-98.
He became embassy secretary at the Danish Embassy in Washington DC 1998-2000, ministerial secretary for the Minister of Foreign Affairs 2000, senior ministerial secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs 2001, press adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs 2001-03, economic adviser at the Danish Embassy in London 2003-04, and press and office manager in the Minister's Secretariat 2004-06.[1]
He was Ambassador to the OECD and UNESCO in Paris 2008-09, before becoming director of strategy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs 2009-10, then department councilor at the Prime Minister's Office in 2010.
In April 2013 joined as Group Director for International Policy, Vodafone in London, where he was for a period until he took up the position of head of department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 1 October 2013, where he succeeded Claus Grube.
In January 2019, he became Deputy Secretary-General of the OECD.
