When musicians are famous, they can use this fame as a stage for spreading ideas that often are denied a hearing other places in corporate media - and the musicians will soon will find themselves under attack and deplatformed afterwards.
If too successful in spreading radical ideas, they tend to die young or get assassinated.
Some musicians will join the establishment, often being front persons for campaigns that aligns with what the government wants, especially in foreign policy.
