A car bomb, bus bomb, van bomb, lorry bomb, or truck bomb, also known as a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device, is an improvised explosive device designed to be detonated in an automobile or other vehicles. Car bombs are often either meant to assassinate people, or building or objects. According to former CIA agent Robert Baer, they are often impossible to detect and should "hold the title of the deadliest weapon of the 1900s because they have been easy to make but can cause damage that's comparable to predator drones or landmines".[1]
