The whistleblower Hester Bais said tat As early as 2008, the focus was on liquefied gas and parties such as Shell played a very important role in this. That year, a number of interesting things happened: Shell CEO Jeroen van der Veer was delegated by the Netherlands to the NATO expert group to draw up NATO's new strategic compass. "That's very special: Why are you sending Shell to NATO on behalf of your country?" said Bais.Van der Veer then stepped down as CEO and became a member of the supervisory board of ING. Shell would later play a very important role in producing and offering liquefied gas. In 2015, they acquired British Gas, making them the largest provider of liquefied gas. Then you see Nordstream shortly afterwards and we all go to liquefied gas.[1]
