Igor Lukšić is a Montenegrin politician.
Montenegro, a small former Yugoslav republic on the Adriatic Sea, is a mayor smuggling hub for illicit drugs[1] and cigarettes,[2] and "seems at times like the private corporation of the prime minister [Đukanović] and his family".[3]
Career
From 2004 to 2010 Lukšić was Finance Minister of Montenegro. When Prime Minister Milo Đukanović announced his resignation in December 2010, he proposed Lukšić as his successor. He officially took office on December 29, 2010. When Đukanović became prime minister again after the 2012 elections, he made Lukšić foreign minister in the new cabinet.[4][5][6][7]
He was selected a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2013.
Per 2021, Lukšić is with PricewaterhouseCoopers and handles public sector activities in southeast Europe.
