Matthijs Veenendaal is a scientist based working for the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research known as TNO in Dutch. The TNO was present and sponsored the summer conference set-up by HCSS members Sijbren de Jong, Rianne Siebenga and Katharine Klacansky where the Dutch Integrity Initiative Cluster was formed[1]. Veenendaal and leader Maria de Goeij met at the Riga, Latvia STRATCOM dialogue in 2018.[2][3] Veenendaal is noted as a vital scientist in the Dutch IT-world having set-up many government websites and more importantly "the development of cyber defence policy at the Dutch Ministry of Defence and was the principle author of the first Defence Strategy for Operating in Cyberspace (2012). He also played an important role in the development of the two National Cyber Security Strategies of the Netherlands."[4]
