Education
Gostin studied psychology at the State University of New York He took a law degree at Duke University, where he became a student leader during a time of widespread campus unrest.
Gostin came to the UK on a Fulbright scholarship, and then stayed. He became the legal adviser of the mental health organization Mind and played a key part the UK 1983 Mental Health Act. He moved to become leader of the National Council for Civil Liberties. During the huge UK miners' strike (1984–85), he took the view that the NCCC should be politically neutral, falling out with half his board of directors.[3] At the time, the organization was of interest to MI5, who gathered information on its activists[4].
Activities
In 2002, in the wake of the false flag anthrax "attacks", the CDC asked Gostin to draft model legislation designed to expand state power in response to bioterrorism.[5]
Gostin advises the White House, the CDC, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the United Nations, the World Health Organization, the World Bank, and other groups on the COVID-19 response and all manner of public health law. The O'Neill Institute at Georgetown University provides legal counsel on pandemic treaty negotiations and global vaccinations.[6]
He is working with the WHO and the Intergovernmental Negotiation Body (INB) to draft a Pandemic Treaty.[1]
Covid
In December 2020, Goslin, together with Daniel A. Salmon and Heidi Larson, strategized on how vaccine mandates could be imposed in multiple sectors, including schools, workplaces, and shops.[7]
In June 2022, in an article on This Is the Best Evidence Yet That Anti-Vaxxers Kill, Gostin strategized on creating a large propaganda campaign:
People must trust public health and science. People must trust the truth. That means a major effort to expand vaccine trust and combat vaccine hesitancy, from building media literacy and working with social-media companies to keep their platforms from being purveyors of deadly information to building networks of community-based organizations and leaders who can create vaccine confidence. And voters must reject politicians who are, literally, killing them.[8]
