|text=The story itself was vetted at a higher degree than any other story in the five years that I was working with them, was vetted higher than any other story. Because I chose to self-vet it through the highest levels of editorial control at our station. Which I didn't have to do and I chose to do that because of the sensitivity of the subject matter we were talking about. And so it ran through the highest levels of journalists at that at that entity, all the way up through news managers, who have had 30-40 years in the business, were looking at it. And when they came back and said was 'yeah this is solid, it's totally solid'. [...] And one thing that I forgot is, there was so much that we couldn't say, so much that we intentionally left out because it was so wild, we couldn't put some of it on TV. And the crazy thing is this, we ran the story, nobody had a problem until the next day when CBS is calling, Daily Beast is calling everyone's attacking right, and then all of a sudden 'oh my gosh what did we do wrong(?)' no that's not what we did wrong, it's if we did something wrong show us what we did wrong.

Ben Swann is a US television news anchor, political commentator and journalist.

Career

Ben Swann has worked as a sports producer, news journalist and producer, and managing editor on network affiliates, FOX, and RT America of the Russian state-owned TV network RT. He received a number of television journalism awards by 2009. Ben Swann created the series Reality Check to address topics such as Pizzagate, and those surrounding the events at Aurora and Sandy Hook[1][2] as well as 9-11. He has also questioned the use of chemical weapons in the Syrian Civil War, the role of the United States in developing of ISIL, and the possible vaccine autism connection.

His employer demanded that he take down his internet media channel and most of his social media sites in 2017 after he did a segment about Pizzagate.[3]

“The story itself was vetted at a higher degree than any other story in the five years that I was working with them, was vetted higher than any other story. Views on Covid-19

On 18 March 2020, Ben Swann warned that seasonal flu could be twice as deadly as the COVID-19 outbreak. In a YouTube video, he suggested taking a look at the numbers from the WHO, and in an “apples to apples” comparison, he showed that the Coronavirus Disease has half the mortality rate of seasonal flu when it comes to "death to confirmed cases" ratio.[7]

Projects

Reality Check

In 2015, he was hired by CBS affiliate WGCL-TV in Atlanta, Georgia.[8] He was suspended in January 2017 for running a story about Pizzagate, reinstated after he took down his Truth in Media and Reality Check sites,[9] but then fired in 2018, after which he relaunched Reality Check.[10]

Liberty Nation

Swann relaunched Truth in Media in 2018 after he was fired by WGCL-TV, and began publishing pieces for the Liberty Nation website.[11]
