Norwegian financier who attended the 1988 Bilderberg. Her ex-husband joined the Institute for Statecraft in the 2010s

Inger Elisabeth Prebensen is a Norwegian business leader with a long career in various management positions in organizations and companies. She attended the 1988 Bilderberg meeting. Her husband until 1985 was the deep state diplomat Chris Prebensen who in the late 2010s joined the Institute for Statecraft.

Background

Inger Prebensen graduated as a lawyer at the University of Oslo in 1973.[1]

Career

She was employed by Williams and Glyn's Bank, Ltd. in London 1974–75, when her husband Chris Prebensen worked as a diplomat there.

She was director of the Norwegian Guarantee Institute for Ships and Drilling Vessels from 1975 and managing director at the same place between 1981 and1982. She divorced her first husband in 1985.[2]

She was a member of the estate board of shipowner Johan Reksten's bankruptcy estate.[2]

She was managing director of the Students' Association in Oslo from 1983 to 1986, where she performed an economic turnaround; at Kjøbmandsbanken from 1986 to 1988; and bank manager at Norges Postsparebank between 1988 and 1995 (from 1992 Norges Postbank). After a leadership fight, Prebensen was demoted to deputy managing director of this bank from 1995 to 1996.[2]

At the same time as this step backwards in her career, her family was hit by financial hardship when her second husband Ole Pedersen went into personal bankruptcy after the bankruptcy of his ship owning company Bjørnebo Rederi. However, the setback was soon turned overcome, and from January 1996 until 2007 Inger Prebensen held several top administrative positions in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington, D.C. From 2012 to 2017, she was CEO of Kolibri Kapital.[2]
