Mario Pedini was an Italian politician who was a member of the Christian Democrats. He attended several Bilderberg meetings in the 1960s, and was exposed a member of the deep state Propaganda Due.
Education
He graduated in philosophy in 1943 at the University of Pavia and then in law.
Career
He became legal attorney, tenured teacher and principal in middle schools.
After the Second World War he approached the Christian Democracy party, becoming first organizational secretary, then provincial political secretary.
A Christian Democrat MP from 1953 to 1968, he held various government positions: Undersecretary for Scientific Research, and for Foreign Affairs, Minister for Cultural and Environmental Heritage, and Minister of Education
He was a member of the European Parliamentary Assembly from 1959 to 1968 and of the European Parliament from 1979 to 1984 and there he was particularly concerned with the development cooperation policies implemented by the EEC, underlining the importance of cultural cooperation and "spiritual" rapprochement between peoples of the North and South of the world, in line with the wishes of the Catholic Church. In the 1980s he was long President of Assafrica, the association of Confindustria that deals with supporting Italian companies operating on the African continent.
He showed a special attention to the world of youth,and he was responsible for the" Pedini Law" on volunteering of 1966, which allowed young people to choose between military service and civil service in developing countries.
In June 1969, Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs, led the delicate negotiations that led to the release in Nigeria of 14 Italian ENI technicians taken prisoner following the massacre of Biafra by a Biafran commando.
On 30 May 1975, as Minister without portfolio of the fourth Moro Government with delegation for the coordination of scientific and technological research initiatives,[1] he signed the Convention establishing a European Space Agency.[2]
In October 1983 he was one of the founders of the Brescia NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) Scaip operating in Africa and Latin America.
