Patrik Aimo Oksanen is a Swedish journalist who later changed career to become a pundit for think-tanks, publishing pieces in unquestioning conformity to the Official Narrative on "security" issues.[1] He is a member of Atlantic Council's DisinfoPortal.

In a October 2022 editorial for Svenska Dagbladet, he analyzed:

“If you look at the factors of capacity, interest, and also add documented operational patterns with high risk appetite, there is only one answer. It is the Russian Federation that has blown up Nordstream 1 and 2.”
Patrik Oksanen,  Svenska Dagbladet (October 2022)  [2]

Career

Oksanen trained as a journalist at the Central University in Sundsvall.[3] Oksanen has previously worked as an editor and deputy editor at the regional newspaper Västerbottensnytt in Umeå and as a reporter at SVT's Mittnytt and Nordnytt. He was selected its first correspondent from its regional offices to EU in Brussels from 2006 until 2007.

From 2008 Patrik Oksanen worked as news manager at the Uppsala local news for TV4.[4] After a period as a freelance journalist, he became political editor at the regional Hudiksvalls Tidning in 2015.[5] he was named journalist of the year in Dagens Medias local media house Competition 2018.[3]

In the fall of 2015, Oksanen started the podcast Podd72 which deals with prepping, security policy, defense and information warfare.[3]

Patrik Oksanen was elected as a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of War Sciences in 2020.[3] He is a part-time strategic advisor at CTSS, Centre for Societal Security, at the Swedish Defence University, where he also lectures on hybrid warfare and influence operations.[1]

He is a Senior Fellow at the business lobbyist think-tank Stockholm Free World Forum (Frivärld) and at the "green-liberal" think-tank Fores.[1]
