Transatlantic Norwegian editor who attended the 2018 Bilderberg

Hanne Skartveit is a Norwegian journalist and political editor. She attended the Bilderberg for the first time in 2018.

She took the leadership course at the Norwegian Defence University College in 2024.

Background

Skartveit was born in Oslo, and is the daughter of journalist, magazine editor and publisher Andreas Skartveit.[1]

In the 1980s, she was a student and was active in student politics at the University of Oslo. She worked as journalist for the newspaper Arbeiderbladet from 1990 to 1991, and has worked for Verdens Gang (VG) since 1991.[1]

She graduated as a Candidate of Law from the University of Oslo in 2004, and has a masters degree in social sciences, from Johns Hopkins University, United States, in 2006.[1]

Political editor

She assumed the position of political editor for VG from 2009, succeeding Olav Versto.[2][1]

She took the leadership course at the Norwegian Defence University College in 2024.[3]

She pushes for a third referendum on Norway joining the European Union.[4][5] Building enemy images of China, [6]Iran[7]. Hardliner on Russia and "defense"[8]
