Charles C. Arliotis was a Greek economist, banker and politician, and a member of the Bilderberg Steering committee. He was Greek Minister of Coordination.[1]

Early life

He was born in Corfu[2] and studied economics in Paris. Upon his return to Greece, he joined the staff of the National Bank of Greece, where he took important positions. In 1938 he was appointed general secretary of the Real Estate Bank, a position he held until 1942, when he was appointed its president[3]. He was also chairman of the Executive Committee of the Royal National Foundation and first chairman of the Hellenic American Union[4]. In 1979 he published the History of the National Real Estate Bank of Greece, for which he was honored with the Academy Award in December 1980.

In the caretaker governments of Georgakopoulos (1958), Dova (1961) and Pipineli (1963) he took over as Minister of Coordination.

In 1979 he and his wife, Lily, made two donations, 23 and 28 works respectively, to the National Gallery. He died in Athens in 1981.
