Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko is a Belarusian politician who has been the first and only president of Belarus since the establishment of the office on 20 July 1994. Prior to his political career, Lukashenko worked as director of a state farm and served in the Soviet Army.

COVID-19
Alexander Lukashenko stated in 2020 that he was offered "$940 million in so-called rapid financing" if he agreed to impose a social change policy suggested by the World Bank. He declined.[1]
He then survived a 2020-2021 regime change operation.[2]
