A part of the 2014 Ukraine coup.

Snipers killed people on both sides of the Maidan demonstration in Kiev on 20 February 2014, an incident which triggered the overthrow of the government two days later.

Official Narrative

The western commercially-controlled media firmly blamed the Yanukovych governments security forces.

There exists evidence that the Maidan snipers were NOT government security personnel.

  • The German television program 'Monitor' did an investigation in the immediate aftermath (see document Maidan snipers.pdf further below) - translated transcript:

But what actually happened on February 20th? We know that the protesters were advancing along Institute Street towards the capitol building. They came under fire from across the way, from the rooftops of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Central Bank and other government buildings. But right from the start there was evidence that they were hit from behind—from their own headquarters, the Hotel Ukraina.

And what evidence is there for this? First of all, there’s this video, which shows a protestor with a metal shield obviously being hit from behind. The man in the video wearing yellow goes even further. He was one of the protesters who spent hours on Institute Street that day. His name is Mikola, and we meet with him at the scene. He says the opposition was shot at from behind, several times in fact.

Mikola (MONITOR translation): "Yes, on the 20th we were shot at from behind, from the Hotel Ukraina, from the 8th or 9th floor."
Reporter (MONITOR translation): "From the eighth or ninth floor?"
Mikola (MONITOR translation): "Yes, definitely, from near the very top."
Reporter (MONITOR translation): "From up there?"
Mikola (MONITOR translation): "Yes, people were standing there shooting, and we were also fired on from the other side.”
Reporter (MONITOR translation): "And who was shooting from above?"
Mikola (MONITOR translation): "I don't know."
Reporter (MONITOR translation): "Do you have any idea?"
Mikola (MONITOR: translation): "They were mercenaries, definitely professionals."

At that time, the Hotel Ukraina here was the headquarters of the demonstrators. Was this eyewitness mistaken? We tour the area at night with Sergei, the investigator. He shows us with a laser that not all of the bullet trajectories are traceable to the government buildings. Using the laser to illuminate the point of impact and the point of origin, some bullet-holes in the trees point in the opposite direction, to the Hotel Ukraina above, which was the headquarters of the opposition during the protests. But that doesn’t jibe too well with the story from the prosecutor’s office. After days of pleading with him, he finally agrees to meet with us. He works for the new government and is a member of the controversial Svobóda party, which was the nationalist right-wing of the opposition movement during the protests.

The Guardian reported this in passing on 20th February as well.[1]

Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet and EU foreign policy spokesman Catherine Ashton. Telecon 25 February 2014
  • A video uploaded to YouTube by somebody who wrote that disaffected Ukrainian security services personnel, loyal to the ousted President Viktor Yanukovych, have intercepted a call and leaked it - it is the audio of a telephone conversation between Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet and EU foreign policy spokesman Catherine Ashton.[2][3] The call was initiated by Paet on 25 February 2014 and only he can be heard speaking.
It provides compelling evidence, that the 13 policemen and the protestors killed by sniper fire were all shot by the same people and that they were under orders from the protest organisers themselves (which is in line with methods used during the Gladio - the people now recognised as the legitimate government of the Ukraine by the Western political establishment. The video also evidences the coercive methods employed by the putsch supporters to secure the compliance of the remaining parliamentary rump of elected members.
The text below the YT video reads:

Published on Mar 5, 2014 - Officers of Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) loyal to the ousted President Viktor Yanukovich have hacked phones of Estonian Minister of Foreign Affairs Urmas Paet and High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton and leaked their conversation to the web. The officials discuss their impressions of what's happening in the country after the revolution. The gist of it is that Ukrainian people have no trust in any of the leaders of Maidan. However the most striking thing of all is the fact which concerns the use of force during the revolution, particularly the snipers who killed both protesters and officers of the riot police. Mr. Paet reveals astonishing information which confirms the rumours that the snipers were employed by the leaders of Maidan.

When the audio got leaked, Paet tried to frame the call in a different way and change the meaning of his words,[4][5] but from the conversation it is clear that he tried to relate his concerns about the situation to Ashton.

Analysis of sniper video.[6]
  • Another video is an analysis of videos uploaded to YouTube, soon after the shooting and in support of the allegation, uniformly reported in the western commercially-controlled media, that "Yanikovych's security police did it".[7]
  • On 13 March 2014, former Ukrainian internal security chief Aleksandr Yakimenko gave an interview to Russia Today in which he confirmed that the buildings from which the the deadly sniper fire of 18-20 February came from was under the full control of the opposition. In particular he confirmed that the man in charge of those controlling the buildings was Andrey Parubiy who has since been appointed head of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine.[8]
  • An Italian documentary that was released in 2017, Ukraine: The Hidden Truth (by Matrix TV), showed interviews with three Georgians who say they were brought into the country to "to arrange provocations to push the police to charge the crowd".[9][10][11][12]
