Dr Karin Lisa von Hippel is the current Director-General of the Royal United Services Institute.

Career

She worked (presumably under cover) for the United Nations and the European Union in Somalia and Kosovo; and has direct experience in over two dozen conflict zones. Also in 2004, she was part of a small team funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development to investigate the development potential of Somali remittances.[1]

She is a former Senior Research Fellow, Centre for Defence Studies, King's College London. She co-directed the Post-Conflict Reconstruction Project, Center for Strategic and International Studies, Washington DC.[2]

Von Hippel served for nearly six years in the US Department of State: Senior Adviser, Bureau of Counterterrorism; then Deputy Assistant Secretary, Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operations; finally, Chief of Staff to General John Allen, Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter-ISIL.

On 30 November 2015, became Director-General of the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI).

Deep State

On her colleagues' reaction to the election of Donald Trump:

The intelligence agencies exist to support the principals,” explained von Hippel...She warned that the problems could get worse, especially “if there’s a morale issue or they think that the president is making decisions and not paying attention to the intelligence they provide.[3]

A New World Order with Non-state actors

On how the world should look after the Corona-lockdowns ("non-state actors" probably means the Bill&Melinda Gates Foundation and the largest corporations:

Karin von Hippel agrees the UN should take a more activist role, particularly in serving in a coordinating function, but offers a different recommendation on how. She suggests “a UN Plus model, one that could convene not just states but also non-state actors, including the private sector....Corona has taught us that our very survival depends on managing the future in a responsible and coordinated fashion.”[4]

She is the author of numerous publications, including Democracy by Force: US Military Intervention in the Post-Cold War World (2000).

She has written for the World Economic Forum.[5]

She might be related to Frank N. von Hippel (born 1937, a physicist and professor and Co-Director of Program on Science and Global Security at Princeton University and the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs.
