Joseph Cofer Black, known as Cofer, is known for his leading role in the CIA's worldwide kidnapping and torture programme euphemistically referred to as 'extraordinary rendition'.[1]

Career

Since resigning from the CIA, Cofer Black has worked in the security industry.

CIA

Black was appointed Ambassador at Large and Coordinator for Counter-terrorism by President George W. Bush in December 2002. He was a Director of the CIA's Counterterrorism Center.

Blackwater

From 2005 until 2008, Black was Vice Chairman of Blackwater USA, a US-based private security firm.

Total Intelligence Solutions

Black later served as the chairman of the privately owned intelligence gathering company Total Intelligence Solutions.

Blackbird Technologies

Black is currently Vice President of Blackbird Technologies, a technology solutions provider based in the Washington DC area.[2]
