Winnifred "Winnie" Sorgdrager is a lawyer and medical scientist who has worked as a former Dutch senator, Dutch Minister of Justice, and Minister of State. Sorgdrager presided over the biggest corruption case of Amsterdam's regional police unit that worked against (and with) kingpin Klaas Bruinsma, giving the responsible Chief of police redundancy pay till his death. She was faced with a strike from the Board of General Attorneys involving a policeman and friend of one Attorney-General accused of pedophilia. Sorgdrager was also questioned for refusing to alter the Dutch policy at the height of the Dutch drug trade, was blocked on the order of the CIA to convict the president of Surinam, and was blackmailed by the Turkish Deep state with her personal assistant: accused homosexual paedophile Joris Demmink.
Early career
Sorgdrager was a prosecutor for the court of Almelo from 1979 to 1986.
