Jefferson "Jeff" Sessions is the Republican Party's US Senator from Alabama.[1] In 2009, The Guardian said he was "known to be one of the most consistently conservative legislators on Capitol Hill."[2]

On 10 March 2017, Jeff Sessions, as US Attorney General, asked the remaining 46 chief federal prosecutors left over from the Obama administration to resign.[3] In May[citation needed] he asked James Comey to resign.[4]

A January 2017 article entitled "How Jeff Sessions Profited from Introducing a Fracking Exemption for Drinking Water Rules" suggested Sessions and his family profited from introducing the "Cheney Loophole" to exempt the fracking industry from the Safe Drinking Water Act.[5]
