Education
He held a doctorate in law from the University of Neuchâtel.[1]
Career
From 1972 to 1975, Marty worked at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law in Freiburg, Germany, responsible for the section on Swiss law.[1]
In 1975, Marty was nominated state prosecutor of the canton of Ticino, in which post he was specially noted for his energetic activities fighting organized crime and drug abuse.
In 1989, Marty was elected a member of the cantonal executive in Ticino, where he was director of the finance department.[1]
In 1998 Marty was appointed a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, where he became a member of its Monitoring Committee.[1]
Activities
Dick Marty investigated the illegal activities of the CIA in Europe for the Council of Europe. He names Ioan Talpeș as someone who authorized or at least knew about and have to stand accountable for torture prisons on the military base Mihail Kogălniceanu from 2003 to 2005.[2] In April 2015, Talpeș confirmed to Der Spiegel that from 2003-2006, he had allowed the CIA use of a building in Bucharest.[3]
On 14 December 2010, Marty published a report for adoption by the Council of Europe alleging inhuman treatment of people and killing of prisoners with the purpose of removal and illicit trafficking in human organs in Kosovo, involving Hashim Thaçi, the Kosovo prime minister and former Kosovo Liberation Army political leader.[4]
Alleged false flag assassination plot
In December 2020, Marty was placed under very high police protection for nearly a year-and-a-half, after death threats. According to Dick Marty, "the threat apparently comes from certain circles of the Serbian intelligence services who have asked the underworld, professional killers, to liquidate me simply to shift the blame on the Kosovars", underworld figures and veterans who have long been carrying out such missions for the Serbian secret services and who were trained by them and would master the assassination "without leaving a trace". For the planned attack, it was believed a Serb had smuggled weapons into Switzerland during the month of December 2020. In order to take advantage of the press attention related to the indictment of Hashim Thaci, the murder was going be presented as being attributable to the Kosovo-Albanian government (the former KLA) in order to discredit him at the international level.[5][6][7][Maybe.This doesn't sound like the full story]
