Sir William Ehrman, KCMG is a British civil servant and former Chairman of the UK Joint Intelligence Committee.

Ehrman learned Chinese Mandarin at Trinity College (Cambridge).

Career

Ehrman "joined the Diplomatic Service in 1973."

"He was also involved in handling the media reaction which followed the death of Iraq arms expert Dr David Kelly."

Ehrman wrote a confidential letter to the government's security and intelligence co-ordinator, David Omand, dated 23 April 2004, suggesting that the government infiltrate "extremist" websites.
